ISLAMABAD: Leading Pakistani nuclear scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan has been reported that in his will expressed the wish that his Funeral Prayer be held at Faisal Mosque Islamabad and according to his will his funeral prayer was held in Faisal Mosque.
It has been reported that Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan was suffering from lung ailment. Due to severe pain, he was brought to KRL Hospital around 6 am today where doctors tried their best to save the nuclear scientist but he could not recover and at 7 am He died at 4 o’clock.
Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan, the creator of the Pakistani atomic bomb, was born in Bhopal, India in 1936. After the formation of Pakistan, he moved to Karachi in 1952, from where Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan obtained a degree in Metallurgy from Karachi University in 1960, after which he moved to Germany. He also received higher education from the Netherlands and obtained a master’s degree in metallurgy from the Netherlands in 1967 and a PhD from Belgium in 1972. He returned to Pakistan in 1976 after studying at the University of Leuven in Belgium.
At the invitation of former Prime Minister of Pakistan Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto, he participated in the Pakistani nuclear program of ‘Engineering Research Laboratories’. Abdul Qadir Khan is a renowned scientist who has worked tirelessly and diligently to build a nuclear plant in a very short span of 8 years. Surprisingly, in May 1998, Pakistan successfully tested the Indian atomic bomb, which was supervised by Dr. Qadeer Khan.
Mohsin Pakistan Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan founded a institute called Kixit in November 2000. He was given the title of Mohsin Pakistan for his outstanding services to the country. In addition, nuclear scientist Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan is the first Pakistani to be awarded three Presidential Awards. He was awarded the Nishan-e-Imtiaz twice. Besides, Dr. Abdul Qadeer Khan was also awarded the Hilal-e-Imtiaz.
