Islamabad :
Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi has said that we have inherited the gift of gray list. We have made every effort to get Pakistan out of the gray list. The Financial Action Task Force (FATF) has now no justification for keeping Pakistan in the ‘gray list’.
Referring to the FATF, the Foreign Minister said, “The FATF is a technical forum. Pakistan has met the technical requirements regarding the task force.” He said, “We have been given 27 action items. Of these, work has been completed on 26 points while work on the 27th point has also been completed.
In this situation, there is no justification for keeping Pakistan on the gray list, but if the intention is to hang a sword on Pakistan, it is another matter, but let’s see what is decided in the plenary meeting.
“India wants to use this forum for political purposes. India should not be allowed to use this forum politically,” he said. “It would be inappropriate to put Pakistan on a further gray list.” He took important decisions keeping in view the international opinion and national interest and took other countries into confidence.
He said that Prime Minister Imran Khan had approached the leaders of different countries at his level and we had done the necessary legislation. Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that Pakistan had provided financial support to money laundering and terrorism. Take concrete steps to prevent it.
“We inherited the gift of the gray list. Before our government came, Pakistan was on the gray list. However, we did our best to get Pakistan out of the gray list. Today, the world is acknowledging that such No concrete steps have been taken by any government in Pakistan before.
“In my view, Pakistan has fully implemented the action plan, the foreign ministry has made its position clear and many countries have recognized Pakistan’s position. They want Pakistan to be removed from the gray list,” he said. Let’s get on the white list.
