Islamabad : Imran Khan said that we are doing everything for the peace of Afghanistan except military action against the Taliban
“If the Taliban take over all of Afghanistan by force and take control of the country, the Pakistani army will not take action and we will close the borders,” he said.
Reacting to the current situation in Afghanistan, Pakistani Prime Minister Imran Khan said: “If the Taliban take over all of Afghanistan by force and take control of this country, the Pakistani army will not take action and we will close the borders.”
He added: “Pakistan wants to trade with Central Asian countries and will establish relations with these countries through Afghanistan.”
According to him, trade agreements have been signed with some Central Asian countries, but if the civil war in Afghanistan continues, these opportunities will be lost.
“We assure the Government of Afghanistan and the President of Pakistan of their support for the peace process and prove to Afghanistan that Pakistan has made every effort to do so,” he said.
He added: “There are contacts and contacts between Pakistani and Afghan intelligence agencies and the necessary information is exchanged.”
Imran Khan said: “Army Commander General Qamar Javed Bajwa is in constant contact with Afghan political and military officials, but unfortunately there is a feeling in Afghanistan that Pakistan needs to take more steps.” It is disappointing that they accuse us of disagreement. We will do everything for peace in Afghanistan except military action against the Taliban.
He said several hundred al-Qaeda members had come to Pakistan after the Tora Bora bombing. At that time, there were no restrictions on the long border between Pakistan and Afghanistan. Fencing has now been established at the borders.
“If the Taliban seize Afghanistan by force, our common border with Afghanistan must be completely closed, and closing the border is necessary to stay out of the Afghan conflict and prevent the illegal entry of refugees,” he said.
According to Khan, Pakistan and India are the world’s largest markets in the region; I am committed to better relations with India in the future and I hope that relations with India will improve. I know India better than any Pakistani. Even as soon as I came to power, I called Narendra Modi and said that my biggest goal was to eradicate poverty, but that efforts to improve relations with India had failed.
“If Modi had been replaced by another Indian prime minister, it would have been possible to resolve the dispute through dialogue,” he said.
“Unfortunately, the previous governments of Pakistan helped the United States beyond their means, which led to mistrust between the two countries, and the people paid a high price for Pakistan-US relations,” Khan added.
“Pakistan and the United States share a common vision on Afghanistan, and we want our relationship with the United States to be based on mutual trust and goals,” he said. However, after the withdrawal of American troops from Afghanistan, the military relations between the two countries can not be described.
Imran Khan reminded: We want the process of political reconciliation in Afghanistan to end before the withdrawal of US troops from this country. The Taliban see the US withdrawal as a victory and have reduced Pakistan’s influence over the Taliban.
According to him, the United States and Pakistan used their influence to negotiate with the Taliban, otherwise Taliban officials would not be willing to talk to the United States; Pakistan encouraged the Taliban to negotiate and they agreed to negotiate with the Afghan government.
