Expressing condolences on the demise of Omar Sharif, the Administrator Karachi has announced to name the underpass on Shaheed Millat Road and Haider Ali Road after him. He said that Omar Sharif was a great personality and a great artist. Made a name for itself around the world.
Administrator Karachi Murtaza Wahab released a statement on the social networking website in which he said that the underpass on Shaheed Millat Road and Haider Ali Road have been named after Umar Sharif.
Earlier, Murtaza Wahab met Omar Sharif’s family and offered condolences on his death. Later, while talking to media, he said that “Omar Sharif was a great personality and a great artist. Provincial Information Minister Saeed Ghani also reached his residence to offer condolences to Omar Sharif’s family.
Talking to media, the Sindh Information Minister said that Omar Sharif would be buried in the premises of Abdullah Shah Ghazi’s mausoleum as per his wish. He said that the Sindh government has started arrangements for the funeral.
The body of Pakistani actor Omar Sharif, who died in Germany, is expected to reach Karachi on Tuesday. His body will be flown from Germany on Monday night. Karachi is 8 hours by air from Nuremberg, Germany.
According to reports, the body of Omar Sharif has been shifted to the morgue. Omar Sharif’s son and wife had left Karachi for the United States directly, which will reach Germany tonight. Commercial flight or air ambulance can be used to bring the body.
In this regard, the sources of civil aviation said that no written request regarding air ambulance has been received. If the request is received, the plane or air ambulance will be allowed to land at Jinnah International Airport.
