According to media reports, PTI Additional General Secretary Umar Ayub Khan has filed this request at the Secretariat Police Station, however, the police said that a letter has been sent to the Legal Branch for an opinion on the request.
According to the request, Amil Wali Khan had addressed a gathering and said that ‘If this country is to be made safe, then Imran Khan has to be removed’.
The complainant said that Amil Wali Khan made this claim in the presence of important people of the present government, he also has a video clip of Amil Wali Khan’s statement.
The petition stated that Aamir Kayani and Sibghatullah Wark are witnesses to this statement of Amil Wali Khan, earlier intelligence agencies and institutions had warned Imran Khan in various letters that his life was in danger.
The petition has said that a case should be immediately registered against the people involved in the conspiracy and Amil Wali Khan should be arrested.
Islamabad Police PRO confirmed that the police has received the application and it has been entered in the daily diary of the Secretariat police station.
However, he said that it is a political statement and cases are not registered on such statements, this statement is not a punishable offence, but considering the content of the application, he has sent a letter to seek legal opinion from the prosecution branch of the police.
