The United Arab Emirates (UAE) has announced a travel ban on Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka from May 12 to curb the spread of the corona virus, the country’s National Emergency Crisis and Disaster Management Authority said.
A statement from the authority said the ban would allow the transfer of passengers from the UAE to Bangladesh, Pakistan, Nepal and Sri Lanka.
The decision also includes an extension of the suspension of passengers who were in the four countries for 14 days before the UAE, and the ban also includes transit flights from those countries.
The statement said that those coming on diplomatic missions approved by the four countries, including UAE nationals, government delegations, people traveling on business planes, and Golden resident holders would be exempted. Will be subject to measures including a 10-day quarantine and PCR test.
According to the authority, the test will take place on the fourth and eighth day of entry into the airport. The UAE has reduced the duration of PCR testing from 72 hours to 48 hours before the departure of the UAE. The ban was announced.
Several countries have banned travelers from India, where hundreds of cases and deaths are reported from Corona every day. The Philippines, Italy, the UAE and Australia have banned the entry of Indian travelers.
Australia also warned that those who tried to violate the travel ban could face jail and fines.
Other countries, including Canada, the United Kingdom and Iran, have banned travel to both India and Pakistan. In the last 24 hours, there have been 366,161 new cases and 3,754 deaths in India.
In addition, there are reports of 3 defeat 447 new cases and 78 deaths in Pakistan, bringing the number of cases in the country to 861 while the number of deaths has exceeded 18,000.
