A meeting was held under the chairmanship of Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz Sharif to review the progress on Murree Development and Improvement Plan.
Before the holidays and the arrival of Eid-ul-Adha, Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz Sharif directed to start the “Dilkash Murree” project. Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz has ordered to fix the rent of hotels in Murree during the season which will provide relief to the white collar class.
Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz said that a final plan should be presented after reviewing the operation of Trail Motor Bike Ambulance in Murree. Professional training of tourism police should be arranged in collaboration with Rescue 1122. Traffic coming to Murree should be monitored by cameras 24 hours a week. Ensure implementation of comprehensive plan to keep traffic flowing through effective management.
Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz directed to improve the facilities at tourist places including Murree, adding that the administration should ensure best arrangements for the convenience of tourists. A rainwater harvesting system should be developed in the villages of Murree. The Chief Minister called for a fire safety plan to prevent fire incidents in the property
The Chief Minister was briefed that the construction and repair of 34 km long roads of Murree has been completed. Kaldana Chowk is being redesigned and expanded. Landmarking of roads and installation of sign boards has been completed. Shops along Murree Roads will be given a universal look. The meeting was attended by Imran Goraya, Secretary Tourism, Secretary Housing, Secretary Construction and Communications, Secretary Information, DG Rescue 1122 and concerned officials. Commissioner Rawalpindi Division, RPO Rawalpindi, CPO, Deputy Commissioner, CTO and concerned officials attended the meeting through video link.
