Islamabad: PTI Chairman Imran Khan’s non-bailable arrest warrant has been issued in the Tosha Khana reference case.
Despite the court orders, Imran Khan did not appear in the Sessions Court, on which Additional District and Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal has issued a warrant. Imran Khan was summoned by the court today.
Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal remarked that Imran Khan was given several opportunities but he did not appear, so the arrest warrant should be executed. The hearing of the case will be adjourned till March 7.
After the non-bailable arrest warrant was issued, PTI workers started gathering outside the sessions court.
Earlier, Imran Khan’s lawyer Ali Bukhari and Election Commission’s lawyer Saad Hassan appeared before the court. The case was heard by Additional Sessions Judge Zafar Iqbal. At the beginning of the hearing, Imran Khan’s lawyer requested for five days to appear.
During the hearing, lawyer Ali Bukhari and Election Commission lawyer Saad Hassan had a bitter exchange. Lawyer Ali Bukhari said that you are a lawyer of the Election Commission and remain a lawyer, do not become a spokesperson, Imran Khan has left Lahore some time ago. Imran Khan has to appear in two courts of the judicial complex, so Imran Khan will not be able to appear in this court today.
Imran Khan’s lawyer requested to adjourn the hearing for 5 days. However, the counsel for the Election Commission opposed the adjournment of the hearing.
Lawyer Election Commission said that it is not a problem of the court where Imran Khan is coming from, he does not want to appear in the court but we are ready to hear this case every day, if Imran Khan appears in other courts then this court why not me?
Lawyer Imran Khan said that I am not able to present Imran Khan in the court today, if Imran Khan comes out of the judicial complex during the court time, we will appear.
Judge Zafar Iqbal remarked that what is the way that Imran Khan cannot appear here and the judicial complex will appear, there will be no time left for this. There is an indictment to be filed, so come here and when the indictment is filed, leave.
Lawyer Ali Bukhari said that Khawaja Haris is Imran’s lawyer in this case, he is not available to appear in this court today and I did not say that he cannot appear in this court but I only said that the judicial complex There will be no time left after the presentation.
After hearing the arguments, the court declared Imran Khan’s attendance as necessary.
