ISLAMABAD: Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah has said that there is a possibility of conflict in Karachi and Hyderabad on the issue of local body elections.
Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah expressed deep concern over the tension over local elections in Karachi and Hyderabad and said that the differences between the political parties on the holding of local elections on January 15 have taken a worrisome situation.
The interior minister said that some miscreants can take advantage of the situation, conflict and peace and order may arise. A small incident can also cause a major accident in Karachi and Hyderabad. Political parties and other parties related to the election should show understanding. There is a need to defuse the atmosphere of tension. The Election Commission and the Judiciary should take note of the seriousness of the situation, an appropriate solution should be found in the light of the Constitution and the law.
On the other hand, Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah said that the safety of people’s lives and property and peace and order in the province is not the priority of the Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. All the energies of the Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa are focused on breaking the provincial assemblies. From the recent incident, it seems that the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa government has not learned any lesson even from the attack on Banu CTD headquarters.
He said that the federal government is deeply concerned about the constantly deteriorating law and order situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province. If the KP police is not safe from terrorist attacks, then what will happen to the security of the people. The Interior Minister condemned the terrorist attack on Sarband police station in Peshawar and expressed his condolences to the families of the martyrs.
