Lahore:
Ameer of Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan Siraj-ul-Haq has said that Pakistani nation will not allow US to use air and land borders. If the mistake of Pervez Musharraf’s era is repeated, it will be another tragedy for the country and the nation. Pakistan has already paid a heavy price for carrying the civil war on its shoulders.
He said that 70,000 people became fuel for the US war in exchange for dollars. The government adopted the policy of Pervez Musharraf and buried its own slogan of change. It promised to eliminate debts but broke all records of increase. Many generations will have to pay a price to fix what PTI has done to the country in 3 years. He expressed these views while addressing a meeting of Jamaat-e-Islami Central Punjab. Amir Jamaat-e-Islami Central Punjab Javed Kasuri, Bilal Qudrat Butt, Qaiser Sharif, Zikrullah Mujahid, Waqar Nadeem Warraich, Nasrullah Goraiah and others were present in the meeting. Siraj-ul-Haq said the government should immediately clarify the US statement claiming that US forces in Pakistan have been allowed to use air and ground space again. In the current context of the region, any such move would be tantamount to pushing Pakistan back into civil war. In the last two decades, Pakistan has borne the brunt of such a mistake.
He said that there was a need for the government to take the nails of conscience and refrain from repeating the mistakes of the past. He said that if such a step was taken then the nation would not allow this policy to be repeated like in the past. It is important for our country to have peace in the region and not to be a part of any activity that would jeopardize the security and peace of Pakistan as a whole.
Siraj-ul-Haq said that the report regarding the increase in SBP loans has opened the floodgates of government claims. Those who claim to have broken the shackles have tarnished Pakistan’s image around the world by borrowing. Siraj-ul-Haq demanded that the agreements reached with the IMF and the World Bank be brought to the notice of the nation on what terms these loans are being obtained. Jamaat-e-Islami will continue its moral support for the liberation of Kashmir and Palestine. A large march in Peshawar on Sunday, May 30, will send a message to the world that the hearts of the Pakistani nation are beating with the Palestinians. Palestinians have fought open terrorism with determination, faith and selfless sacrifice. The time has come for all Muslim countries to step forward and play their full role in the reconstruction of Gaza.
He called for the immediate establishment of a Palestine Fund in which all Muslim countries, the international community and charitable organizations should fully participate. He extended special thanks to the people of Karachi who came out in millions and raised their voices in favor of the Palestinians and condemned Israel’s actions and demanded an end to Israel’s illegal occupation of Palestine.
