Islamabad :
The inside story of the meeting of the ruling coalition parties with Prime Minister Imran Khan has come to light, according to which the coalition parties raised the issue of not trusting the electronic voting machines. Government allies complained of lack of confidence in key legislation.
Government allies questioned how effective this machine would be on Pakistan’s political electoral system. Coalition parties demanded a detailed briefing on the use and function of the ECM.
How safe are these machines? Who will use these machines in rural areas? How much will it cost to purchase these machines? Who will be responsible for security? During the meeting, the coalition parties asked Prime Minister Imran Khan to refrain from making such important decisions on his own.
According to sources, on the complaint of the allies, Prime Minister Imran Khan directed the Ministry of Science and Technology to give a detailed briefing to the allies.
After which the coalition parties are likely to be given a detailed briefing on the electronic voting machine next week.
