According to sources, the Speaker of the National Assembly has not received the resignation of Faisal Wawda and has not even reached the Legislative Department of the National Assembly.
Sources in the National Assembly said that according to the rules, the resignation is confirmed if it reaches the Speaker, but Faisal Wawda met the Speaker and his resignation was not confirmed, so how was the resignation accepted when it was not received.
In case of confirmation of the resignation by the Speaker, he would have definitely sent it to the Legislative Department, but the resignation did not reach the Legislative Department and Faisal Wawda has not been called for confirmation.
Islamabad High Court Justice Aamer Farooq heard the disqualification case against Faisal Wawda. Lawyer Faisal Wawda told the court that the disqualification case against Faisal Wawda has become ineffective. Faisal Wawda is a Senate candidate from Sindh on a PTI ticket.
The Islamabad High Court (IHC) on Wednesday reserved its judgment in the case seeking Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Faisal Vawda’s disqualification.
Prior to this development, Vawda resigned from his National Assembly seat.
A single bench of the IHC comprising Justice Aamer Farooq was hearing the petition moved against the federal minister by Barrister Jahangir Jadoon.
During the hearing, Vawda’s counsel argued that the case against him in the court stands ineffective following his resignation.
However, Jadoon objected to the argument, stating that several members of the assembly resigned from their seats and joined the parliament again in the past.
