A three-member ECP hearing was held against Railway Minister Azam Swati regarding the allegations against the Election Commission. The Commission asked the Federal Minister’s lawyer where Azam Swati was. On which Barrister Ali Zafar, while requesting exemption of Azam Swati from not appearing today, stated that he is not here today therefore I have appeared.
In the commission, a member of the Senate asked whether Azam was ignoring the Swati Election Commission. He was in the Senate at the last hearing but did not come here. To which Barrister Ali Zafar replied that Azam Swati appeared before the Election Commission twice, and now he has also submitted his apology. Barrister Ali Zafar read out a written apology before the Election Commission.
In the apology, Azam Swati said that he always tried to make the Election Commission strong. I apologize if I was offended by anything. Worked for
Sindh member Nisar Durrani remarked that all institutions should respect each other, Azam Swati will have to come forward and apologize, Election Commission is doing its job honestly, all institutions should come to respect each other, today Attendance for is giving him an exemption.
The ECP summoned Azam Swati in person on December 22, while preserving the decision on Fawad Chaudhry’s written apology, remarking that it would issue appropriate order on Fawad Chaudhry’s apology.
