LAHORE: Speaker Punjab Assembly has accepted the resignation of PML-N MPA Faisal Niazi. MPA Faisal Niazi has resigned and joined Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI).
Faisal Niazi had tendered his resignation before the election of Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz. Faisal Niazi has officially joined PTI today.
Faisal Niazi was not given a ticket by PTI in 2018 after which he contested the election on PML-N ticket. Now he has resigned from the PML-N seat and rejoined the PTI. After Faisal Niazi joined the PTI, Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz lost another vote in the Punjab Assembly.
A few days ago, Faisal Niazi had announced to vote for Hamza Shahbaz.
Talking to media in Lahore, Faisal Niazi said that he has never been away from PML-N. MPA Faisal Niazi said that now if there is an election, I will vote for Hamza Shahbaz. Faisal Niazi said that the majority is with PML-N and the victory will be his. PML-N defector Faisal Niazi had tendered his resignation to the Speaker. PML-N Punjab Information Secretary Azmi Bukhari while confirming said that Punjab Assembly member Faisal Niazi has resigned from PML-N membership.
He said that Faisal Niazi wrote his resignation while sitting in the chamber of the opposition leader. Faisal Niazi’s resignation has not been accepted so far. Member Punjab Assembly Faisal Niazi says that my resignation is with the Speaker, let him know whether it has been accepted or not.
