Peshawar: As a result of the suicide blast inside the Police Lines mosque, the number of martyrs, including the imam of the mosque and officials, has reached 100, while 53 people have been injured.
The blast took place at the time of Zuhr prayer where the attacker was in the front row. After the blast, the police and other law enforcement agencies cordoned off the area. Evidence is being collected by the bomb disposal squad.
After the explosion, emergency was imposed in all the hospitals of Peshawar, the injured and dead bodies were shifted to Lady Reading Hospital. An appeal has been made in the hospital to donate blood to the injured, in which O negative blood was specifically requested to be donated.

Muhammad Asim, the spokesperson of Lady Reading Hospital, confirmed that 100 people have been martyred in the blast so far, while the number of injured in LRH has reduced to 53, out of which 17 are currently in the ICU. Among the injured brought to the hospital, 10 underwent surgery in operation theatres.
According to the spokesman, the condition of most of the injured under treatment is out of danger. Free medical facilities are being provided to all the injured while others brought to LRH have been discharged from the hospital.
According to the police, it is feared that heavy explosives were used in the attack, due to the intensity of which both the roof of the mosque and the canteen adjacent to it collapsed, a crane has been ordered to remove the debris. CTD office is also located behind the mosque.

According to reports, the attacker entered the mosque along with the worshipers through the main gate of the police station, crossed three to four checking points and blew himself up. After the explosion, the main gate of the police station was closed.
CCPO Peshawar Ijaz Khan said that the smell of the explosion suggests that the attack was a suicide attack, due to which the hall of the mosque, where prayers are offered, collapsed, while the area up to the courtyard of the mosque was also destroyed. .
He said that the police lines have two gates and 10 to 15 personnel are deployed on duty, one gate is for common people and the other is for police officers.
CCPO Peshawar said that building demolition materials were used in the blast and there is no doubt that the attack inside the police station was a security failure. . About 300 people were present in the mosque.
Speaking to the media outside the police station, Jamaat-e-Islami leader and former Local Government Minister KP Inayatullah said that people’s voices are coming from under the debris that fell as a result of the explosion. Be removed soon.
PTI leader Shaukat Yousafzai said that 5 people are alive under the debris and are being given medical aid. He said that the caretaker government has to focus only on security.
It should be noted that Peshawar Police Lines is known as the headquarters and there are sensitive buildings as well as offices of important officers.

I Rati Shah, Waseem Shah, Gul Sharaf, Hayatullah Khattak, Zubair, Abdul Hameed, Usman, Khalid Jan, Rafiq Khan, Inspector Irfan Khan, Abdul Wadud, Liaqatullah Shah, Atif, Rizwanullah, Hazrat Umar, Noor Ahmed Shah, Aftab, Hafeezullah, two CTD officials Ashfaq, Karamatullah, three FC officials Zakir Ali Khalil, Shahabullah, Amjad Khan and others are included.
It should be noted that due to the increase in the number of martyrs due to the non-adherence of the patients under treatment in the hospital and due to the emergence of more people from the rubble, the final number of dead and injured has not been officially released yet.
