The swearing-in ceremony will be held at the Governor’s House at 8 pm. It is not yet clear who will take the oath from the Speaker or the Governor. Punjab Governor Omar Sarfraz Cheema has not yet decided whether to take the oath or not.
Deputy Speaker Punjab Assembly has issued a letter to the concerned agencies regarding the election results. The Governor House was also apprised of the election results of the Chief Minister.
It may be recalled that there was a commotion in the Punjab Assembly during the Punjab Chief Ministerial election yesterday and Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was injured.
Talking to media, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi said that his health is very bad, they tried to kill me, they killed me on their own, this action was taken on Shahbaz Sharif’s phone, I am still the speaker. This is happening with the speaker, my arm is broken, this is the democracy of the Sharifs.
Newly elected Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz, while addressing the assembly after being elected, said that Imran Khan had rigged the election through rigging. We will form a committee of inquiry into what happened. We will not take revenge on anyone. The law will take its course.
Speaking in the Punjab Assembly, Hamza Shahbaz said that Allah gives honor to whomever He wills. For the last two weeks, the nation has been in a state of tension. He said that according to the constitution and law elections will be held, the doors of the house are closed on the members, powers were also taken away from the deputy speaker Thankfully the Deputy Speaker is safe, time passes but the characters are remembered. The Custodian of the House has taken an oath to abide by the Constitution. When defeat was seen, the Assembly was sealed and attacked.
