Talking to media in Lahore, Jahangir Khan Tareen said that we appear before the court and want the court to act in a transparent manner. Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) leader Jahangir Tareen said that A meeting was held with Prime Minister Imran Khan in a cordial atmosphere in which he assured to remove the reservations.
He said that the Prime Minister had handed over the responsibility of the case to Ali Zafar. He was met in a cordial atmosphere in which he assured to remove the reservations.
He said there was no money laundering in the case, it was not a criminal case, the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) had no role in it, it was a business case, a public fund or secret fund. No problem
“I have been under investigation for over a year, 78 appearances have been served, while we are not talking about ending the case or obstructing the approval of the budget,” Tareen said.
To a question, he said that he would not respond to Shah Mehmood Qureshi’s statement, he did not like to say so. He said that “I have not had any contact with the PML-N or the PPP.”
The Deputy Director FIA told the court that the statements of the co-accused of Jahangir Tareen are yet to be recorded, some records are yet to come from the bank, as soon as the records are completed, the investigation will be completed.
Jahangir Tareen’s lawyer said that Abu Bakar Khudabakhsh has also been made a part of the investigation team. He may be considering the case now but he did not summon Jahangir Tareen.
“As soon as Abu Bakar Khudabakhsh summons Jahangir Tareen and Ali Tareen, they will both appear. We do not want to suspend the case. We want to complete our case soon,” he said. It is up to the investigating officer.
He inquired about the whereabouts of the file in which the court had called for an inquiry report in the case of Jahangir Tareen. The inquiry report in the case of Jahangir Tareen was not submitted by the FIA.
The court expressed displeasure over the FIA and said that at the next hearing, the FIA should submit an inquiry report to the court in any case. If the inquiry report is not submitted at the next hearing, action will be taken against the FIA.
The court directed the FIA to complete the investigation as soon as possible. The sessions court extended the interim bail of Jahangir Tareen and Ali Tareen till May 19.
On the other hand, Barrister Salman Safdar, on behalf of Jahangir Tareen and Ali Tareen, argued in the Banking Crimes Court that the FIA had admitted its mistake in the court. Abu Bakar Khuda Bakhsh has now joined the investigation.
“The FIA case is very strange. There are many flaws in the FIA case. The FIA had objected to the jurisdiction of this court. I think it is the jurisdiction of any court,” he said. No, this case is removable. There is nothing in this case.
Later, the court extended the bail of Jahangir Tareen and Ali Tareen till May 19. The judge directed the lawyers that the date may not be fixed on May 19 and the lawyers of the parties should be prepared.
