Islamabad :
The Election Commission will de-list Tehreek-e-Labaik and de-register it as a political party. The government has decided to file a reference in the Supreme Court to declare Tehreek-e-Labaik null and void. According to details, the government has decided to file a reference in the Supreme Court seeking annulment of the said political party, taking stern action against Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan.
Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan (TLP) had filed a review appeal against the annulment by the Interior Ministry. The Home Ministry had also formed a committee to review the TLP’s appeal. Pakistan’s party has decided to file a reference in the Supreme Court for de-registration.
If the Supreme Court rules in favor of the government, it will be able to delist the Election Commission (TLP). Tehreek-e-Labaik is registered as a political party in the Election Commission of Pakistan.
In this regard, Federal Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said that Tehreek-e-Labaik Pakistan has been banned, has not abandoned any program of dissolution. The government and Imran Khan are abiding by these two decisions. The Prime Minister has directed that action be taken in accordance with the constitution and law. To be done and not to be surrendered.
It should be noted that the banned Tehreek-e-Labaik had applied to the government against the ban, stating that Tehreek-e-Labaik was not a terrorist organization but a political party registered with the Election Commission. The allegation of terrorism against Tehreek-e-Labeek is false. The ban should be lifted. After the recent protests and sit-ins in the country, the government banned Tehreek-e-Labaik and declared it null and void.
