Criticizing the opposition, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid said that the opposition was over and the government was no longer afraid of the opposition. No matter how hard the opposition tries, in the end it will have to face defeat. Terrorism in major cities of the country is due to international politics.
Speaking on a program on a private TV channel, Interior Minister Sheikh Rashid claimed that in a month and a half, there would be politics of national security and good relations between the government and the opposition. He said that no matter how hard Shahbaz Sharif tries, in the end he has to be solidified.
Talking about the incidents of terrorism, Sheikh Rashid said that there was an international conspiracy to carry out acts of terrorism in Karachi, Islamabad and Lahore. He further said that a lot of poison is being spread against Pakistan in Afghanistan, efforts are being made to make Pakistan a sandwich but we will come out victorious.
It may be recalled that last month, the in-camera meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security was held under the chairmanship of Speaker National Assembly Asad Qaiser which lasted for more than eight hours. Political leadership including GISI, other military officials, opposition leader Mian Shahbaz Sharif, Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi and four chief ministers were also present. The important meeting was briefed on Afghanistan and national security. The participants agreed to reconvene before Eid.
Sources close to the meeting of the Parliamentary Committee on National Security said that the briefing of more than eight hours in the meeting was completely professional. Media sources said that Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa answered every question in the meeting with arguments and references.
DG ISI Lt. Gen. Faiz Hameed expressed confidence in bringing the warring Afghan groups to the table. Media sources also said that some participants in the long meeting continued to ring the desk in response to the detailed response. Prime Minister Imran Khan did not attend the meeting.
