KARACHI: To remove the shortage of flour in the country, wheat is being imported by the government.
The first batch of wheat ordered at the government level from Russia has reached Karachi. Officials of the Ministry of Food Security said that two ships of wheat have arrived from Russia. Another 450,000 tons of wheat from Russia will reach Pakistan through Gwadar.
A total of 7.5 million tons of wheat is being imported at the government level. By March 30, all the government-imported wheat shipments from Russia will reach Pakistan.
Ships carrying imported wheat from different countries have reached Karachi port. So far three and a half lakh tons of wheat has arrived at Karachi port.
