Islamabad :
Electricity and oil prices are set to rise further, prompting Finance Advisor Shaukat Tareen to warn the public once again about further rise in electricity and oil prices. But we did not increase that much.
According to details, while talking to Geo News program Shahzeb Khanzada today, Shaukat Tareen said that the International Monetary Fund (IMF) had asked for more increase in petroleum development levy but we have agreed to increase it less.
He warned the people that electricity prices would also go up. The finance adviser said oil and electricity prices would not rise as much as the IMF wanted.
It may be recalled that OGRA had recommended an increase in the prices of petroleum products by up to Rs 11 from November 1, which was rejected by Prime Minister Imran Khan. However, the Finance Adviser has once again warned the people about the rise in electricity and oil prices and hinted at an increase in their prices.
