ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has said that the entire banking system has suffered due to ATM thefts.
A three-member bench of the Supreme Court, headed by Justice Ejaz-ul-Ahsan, rejected the bail of Taseef Abbas, accused of stealing money from an ATM. The Supreme Court ordered the FIA to get to the bottom of the matter.

Justice Ejaz-ul-Ahsan said in his remarks that the entire banking system has sunk due to thefts from ATMs. Due to these thefts, people’s confidence in banking is deteriorating. FIA should investigate the whole matter thoroughly.
The Deputy Attorney General told the court that the accused was caught on the spot and 34 thousand rupees were recovered from him.
Justice Mazahir Ali Akbar inquired as to why the investigation has not been completed in 11 months, to which the investigating officer said that he had completed the investigation and submitted the challan. The court expressed its displeasure at the late arrival of the investigating officer, on which the investigating officer apologized.
