Chief of Army Staff General Qamar Javed Bajwa has arrived in Afghanistan on a one-day visit where he will hold important meetings with Afghan officials in which issues of mutual interest will be discussed.
According to a statement issued by the Pakistan Army Public Relations Department (ISPR), Army Chief General Qamar Javed Bajwa visited Afghanistan. During the visit, Afghan President Ashraf Ghani had a detailed meeting with the Army Chief. Defense was also present.
According to ISPR, the meeting discussed issues of mutual interest, the latest situation in the Afghan reconciliation process as well as security, defense cooperation and effective border management. According to ISPR, General Qamar Javed Bajwa said that peaceful Afghanistan means peace in Pakistan and the region.
He said that Pakistan would continue to support the efforts of the Afghan people for lasting peace. According to ISPR, in the most important meeting, the Afghan President thanked the Chief of Army Staff for his meaningful dialogue and serious role in the Afghan reconciliation process. It should be noted that the Pakistani authorities have made great efforts for peace in Afghanistan and Pakistan wants peace in Afghanistan.
