The Supreme Court, in a landmark decision, ordered the demolition of the Tejori Heights in Gulshan-e-Iqbal area of Karachi in four weeks. A written decision has also been issued in this regard.
According to details, the Supreme Court Karachi Registry has issued a written order in the Tejuri Heights case. The written decision was written by Chief Justice Gulzar Ahmed, in which it was said that the entire building should be demolished and debris removed in 4 weeks.
The written decision said that before the demolition, the Tejuri Heights administration should remove the files and equipment, the booking files should be taken out under the supervision of Commissioner Karachi, and the Commissioner Karachi should make a complete inventory of booking files.
It should be noted that the court decision said that full addresses and accounts of those who made bookings in the inventory should be entered, after completing the inventory, the commissioner should submit the report to the Supreme Court and those who made the booking should be paid compensation within 3 months.
It is to be noted that according to the written decision, Tejuri Heights should ensure implementation of this decision. Failure to do so would result in action against the management of Tejuri Heights.
