ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has directed the Chief Commissioner Islamabad to provide adequate space for the PTI Long March.
The Supreme Court heard the petition of PTI Secretary General Asad Umar against stopping the long march.
Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan remarked that emergency has been declared in all hospitals, schools and transport have been closed, all examinations have been postponed, roads and businesses have been closed, the country is at a critical juncture and is on the verge of bankruptcy. Will the whole country be shut down on every protest? Basically, the government is trying to shut down business life.
The attorney general said that the court should not talk like this about the economy, the media should be prevented from making remarks. Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan said that every person knows the economic situation of the country.

The petitioner took the position that all the highways of the country except Khyber Pakhtunkhwa have been closed, people are being harassed, houses are being ransacked, government measures are unconstitutional.
Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan said that space had been allotted for protest in the past also. According to media, PTI had applied for permission to protest.
President Islamabad High Court Bar Shoaib Shaheen said that police were also breaking into the houses of lawyers and arresting them. The house of former judge Nasira Javed was also raided last night. Justice Ijaz-ul-Ahsan said that no one has the authority to take the law into their own hands.

The Supreme Court summoned the Chief Commissioner Islamabad, DC Islamabad, IG Home Secretary and Advocate General and directed all the officers to submit a detailed report on the situation. The court also sought orders in the case pending in the Islamabad High Court.
