Islamabad: The Supreme Court once again advised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf to return to the National Assembly.
A two-member bench headed by Chief Justice Umar Atta Bandyal heard the petition against approval of step-by-step resignations of PTI members from the National Assembly.
The Supreme Court gave another opportunity to PTI to prepare a petition against the acceptance of phased resignations, saying that the order of the High Court regarding the acceptance of phased resignations is clear, the acceptance of phased resignations of the Speaker is legal.
The court said that Article 69 could be affected by apparently interfering with the power of the Speaker, to satisfy the court that what is lacking in the order of the High Court.
Chief Justice of Pakistan Umar Atta Bandyal remarked that the people have elected you for 5 years, PTI should play its role in Parliament, playing role in Parliament is the real duty.
Justice Umar Atta Bandial said that crores of people have been displaced by the flood at this time, the flood victims have neither water to drink nor bread to eat, people from abroad are coming to help the victims.
The Chief Justice of Pakistan further said in his remarks that looking at the economic condition of the country, PTI has an estimate of what the costs of by-elections on 123 seats will be. Justice Athar Minullah reviewed the law in depth and gave a decision, this kind of interference in the work of the speaker is a very difficult task for the court.
The Supreme Court advised the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf to once again return to the National Assembly and adjourned the hearing for an indefinite period.
