The Standing Committee on Information has summoned former Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar to state its position on the audio leak issue. Earlier, however, former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar had termed the alleged leaked audio as fake.
According to details, the National Assembly’s Standing Committee on Information convened a meeting on December 6. According to a media report, the Standing Committee directed the media houses to provide details of advertisements issued by the federal, Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provincial governments from 2013 to date. The Standing Committee on Information also summoned former Chief Justice of Gilgit-Baltistan Rana Shamim and former Chief Justice of Pakistan Saqib Nisar. Journalist Ahmad Noorani, Editor-in-Chief Sama TV and Saqib Nisar were directed to appear before the court on the issue of audio leaks.
The issue of violence against journalist Absar Alam and Asad Tor is also on the agenda while cases against journalists Hamid Meera and Asma Shirazi are also part of the agenda.
It is to be noted that an audio clip attributed to Chief Justice (Retd) Saqib Nisar came to light in which he was allegedly saying that Nawaz Sharif would have to be punished for making room for Imran Khan. The alleged audiotape went viral on social media, in which Chief Justice (retd) Saqib Nisar allegedly said that Nawaz Sharif would have to be punished for making room for Imran Khan, and Maryam Nawaz would also have to be punished.
In the alleged audio clip, he is allegedly admitting that Maryam Nawaz will also have to be punished even though there is no case against Maryam Nawaz. After which the alleged audio clip, which went viral on social media, has been termed by PML-N leaders as a test for their victory and justice. Meanwhile, former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar had termed the alleged audio attributed to him as fake.
Reacting to the alleged audio of former Chief Justice Saqib Nisar, he said, “I have just listened to this audio. This audio is fake which has been attributed to me.” Is. Justice (R) Saqib Nisar said that this fabricated audio has been attributed to me. Such things are being made and brought.
