Islamabad :
Prime Minister Shahbaz Sharif said that due to the worst economic policies and poor performance of the previous government there was a big economic challenge but we will fulfill this responsibility, we have made difficult decisions and if more difficult decisions to improve the economy of this country. If they have to, they will.
After the meeting of the Federal Cabinet, the Prime Minister said in an exclusive interview that unfortunately we got a huge economic challenge due to the worst economic policies, inconsiderate and extremely poor performance of the previous government.
He said that the biggest thing is that oil and petrol prices are skyrocketing in the world but the previous government reduced their prices and laid a trap for the government which is 100% malicious. The decision was that if he cared about the welfare and problems of the people, he would have left an example during his three-and-a-half years of government which we would say he worked for the welfare of the people.
Shahbaz Sharif said that the economic situation in the world is very serious, global prices of oil, petrol and other commodities are rising very fast but we decided in this budget that where we have to increase petrol and oil prices, We have provided relief to 70 million people through which two thousand rupees a month is being given to millions of people through the helpline.
“We decided in the budget that we would share the burden on the poor and tax the rich so that the poor would be convinced that if they were burdened, we would tax the richest,” he said. And I am glad that they will happily support the nation on this occasion, show selflessness and sacrifice, thanks to which we will collect hundreds of billions of taxes.
The Prime Minister said that we will fulfill this responsibility, we have made difficult and bold decisions, if we have to do more then we will do it so that the economy of this country can be improved and we can strengthen the economy of Pakistan. So we will not hesitate to take any step.
He said that he hoped that the coalition government would overcome these difficulties with the prayers of the people and we will work for the betterment of the people in the years to come after these decisions.
