On his way to China, Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi said in a video message that there are many important meetings in China, the third meeting of Pakistan’s Initiative ‘Platform of Neighbors’ which includes all the neighbors of Afghanistan. Shah Mehmood Qureshi also left for China to attend the third meeting of neighboring countries on Afghanistan at the special invitation of Chinese State Consul and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
He said that foreign ministers of China, Pakistan, Iran, Afghanistan and Central Asian countries would participate in the meeting under the said platform.
“We will review the situation in Afghanistan, discuss peace and stability, economic development, and communications projects there, and I hope that these talks will continue,” he said.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi further said that we have also decided to hold a tripartite meeting of the Foreign Ministers of China, Pakistan and Afghanistan.
Continuing, he said that the Expansion Troika is a platform that has played a vital role in building consensus, which includes the United States, China, Russia, Pakistan and Afghanistan. Will be.
He also said that during the visit he would have a bilateral meeting with the Russian Foreign Minister to discuss the Ukraine issue and the OIC mandate given to Pakistan that if we can play any role. I would like to get their opinion on this.
He said that a bilateral meeting was also scheduled with the Iranian Foreign Minister in which he would try to review the progress of the talks with the United States on the nuclear deal.
The Foreign Minister said that during the visit there will be bilateral meetings with other Foreign Ministers as well. Since the visit is very busy, we will try our best to present the point of view of Pakistan and defend the interests of the country.
In this regard, a statement issued by the Foreign Office said that during his three-day visit, the Foreign Minister will attend the Third Summit of Afghanistan’s Neighboring Countries and the Trika Plus Summit.
According to the statement, the Foreign Minister will brief the participants on Pakistan’s position on joint efforts for peace in the region, including Afghanistan.
During the visit, the Foreign Minister will also hold bilateral meetings with Chinese State Councilor and Foreign Minister Wang Yi.
He is also expected to meet with Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov and Iranian Foreign Minister Amir Abdullahian.
During these meetings, important regional and global issues of mutual interest, including bilateral relations and the promotion of bilateral cooperation in multilateral fields, will be discussed.
The Foreign Office hopes that the Foreign Minister’s visit will be very useful for promoting China, Pakistan’s economic priority agenda and regional ties.
