Rawalpindi: Police arrested Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed, he was produced in the court where the judge handed over Sheikh Rasheed to the police on two days physical remand.
Islamabad Police arrested Awami Muslim League chief Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed from his residence in Bahria Town, Rawalpindi late at night and transferred him to police station secretariat after medical check-up. A case has been registered against him in Abpara police station, Islamabad. The case was registered against the vice president of People’s Party Rawalpindi, Raja Inayat.
In the text of the FIR registered against Sheikh Rashid, the plaintiff has said that whoever wants to kill Imran Khan has all the information in this regard and is ready to tell. Under Diya, he wants to defame the former president, thereby creating a permanent threat to Sheikh Rashid Ahmed Asif Ali Zardari and his family.
Moreover, Sheikh Rasheed wants to create conflict and enmity between PPP and PTI by mentioning a fabricated and baseless conspiracy so that the peace of the country will be disturbed. Therefore, the conspiracy should be thwarted by taking information from Sheikh Rasheed Ahmed and all the characters should be arrested by using the authority of Section 150-151, and the unrest spreading in the country should be stopped.
According to the police, the case application was received on January 30, after receiving the application, a report was filed against Sheikh Rasheed and an inquiry was conducted under Section 196B. A case has been registered.
Court appearance, physical remand granted
The police produced Sheikh Rasheed in the District and Sessions Court Islamabad where Judicial Magistrate Umar Shabbir handed over Sheikh Rasheed to the police on a two-day physical remand. The police had requested an eight-day remand, but the judge granted a two-day physical remand.
Before the hearing started in the courtroom, journalists asked Sheikh Rasheed whether the Rawalpindi police were also present at night. To which Sheikh Rashid said no! Rawalpindi police was not present, Islamabad police came at night and some people without uniform, I have all the videos.
Contempt of court petition against arrest scheduled for hearing
Sheikh Rasheed’s nephew Sheikh Shakir Shafiq’s contempt of court petition was set for hearing. The registrar’s office has released the cause list, according to which Justice Tariq Mahmood Jahangiri will hold the hearing tomorrow.
A contempt of court petition was filed against the Islamabad Police in the Islamabad High Court, in which it was said that the court suspended the police summons notice to Sheikh Rashid yesterday, despite the court order, a case was registered against Sheikh Rashid. Sheikh Rasheed was also arrested late at night, take contempt of court action against SHO Police Station Abpara.
