ISLAMABAD: Awami Muslim League chief and former interior minister Sheikh Rasheed has claimed that instead of a by-election, matters have been settled regarding a new election.
He said in his message on the social media website ‘Twitter’ that ‘instead of a by-election, matters have been settled on a new election, the date of the election in October, the decision of the new election commission and caretaker government will be heard soon.’
Referring to Asif Ali Zardari, who apparently fell victim to the corona virus recently, he said that ‘quarantine people have also agreed on the election, only Maulana Fazlur Rehman is left.’
Sheikh Rasheed pointed out the current economic situation of the country and said that an increase of 250 dollars and 10 rupees in electricity and LPG will close the markets.
He said that the political reputation of the allies has turned into ashes, democracy has become a joke and the assembly has become a spectacle.
It should be noted that this statement of the head of Awami Muslim League came at a time when Interior Minister Rana Sanaullah urged PTI chief Imran Khan to dissolve the assemblies in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Punjab and this A key condition for their demand is for general elections.
In a press conference on Thursday, he said that his party chief Nawaz Sharif also wants the country to move towards elections, but this person (Imran) is demanding the dismissal of the Chief Election Commissioner without understanding this fact. The Chief Election Commissioner cannot be replaced without completing the necessary constitutional process.
Rana Sanaullah also claimed that if elections are held, Muslim League (N) will sweep Punjab and we will form our own government.
Also, the ruling coalition on Thursday reiterated that it will complete its constitutional term.
PDM chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said in a joint press conference with Muslim League (N) vice president Maryam Nawaz after the alliance meeting that the government will complete its term and the next general elections will be held on time.
