According to details, lightning strikes on power plants in Torgarh district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa destroyed 3 houses, buried several people and left 11 dead. Rescue agencies responded to the tragic incident in a timely manner. The bodies and injured were shifted to a nearby hospital.

It was informed that the system was shut down due to power breakdown in K Electric in Karachi, 1400 out of 1900 feeders of K Electric tripped as a result of which 80% area of Karachi lost power, water supply to the city was suspended due to power outage. A spokesman for Electric said that the power supply to K Electric was suspended due to a lightning strike which was later restored to KE from NTDS.
