Islamabad/Moscow: President Putin has expressed Russia’s strong interest in deepening bilateral relations by calling Pakistan an important partner country of Russia in South Asia and the Islamic world.
According to Express News, a delegation led by Russian Energy Minister Nikolay Shulginov met Prime Minister Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif in Lahore, during which the Prime Minister highlighted the importance of mutual relations between Pakistan and Russia.
During the meeting, the Prime Minister referred to his meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Samarkand in September 2022 and expressed satisfaction over the efforts of both countries to enhance bilateral cooperation in trade, investment and economic matters.
Both sides agreed on the importance of the energy sector for the development of bilateral economic and trade relations, in this regard, long-term supply of oil and gas from Russia to Pakistan and issues related to gas pipelines were discussed. was also reviewed.
In the meeting with the Russian Minister in Lahore, important decisions were taken to further strengthen Pakistan-Russia relations. On this occasion, the Russian Energy Minister conveyed a special message from Russian President Vladimir Putin to the Prime Minister.
In his message, President Putin called Pakistan an important partner of Russia in South Asia and the Islamic world and reiterated Russia’s strong interest in deepening bilateral relations.
