Islamabad: Speaker National Assembly Raja Pervaiz Ashraf accepted the resignations of 43 more members of PTI.
Speaker National Assembly approved the resignations of PTI members and sent them to the Election Commission, after which notifications will be issued.
Apart from the defected members of PTI, only 2 members remained in the National Assembly. Yesterday, 45 PTI members had requested to withdraw their resignations, out of which 43 members’ resignations were accepted.
According to sources in the Speaker’s Office, the resignations of 123 PTI members have been accepted so far, the resignations of two members were not accepted due to their request for leave.
The Election Commission also received the resignations of PTI members.
The Election Commission will decide on the de-notification of PTI members in today’s meeting while it will also consider the request of PTI members not to de-notify.
It should be noted that the PTI members of the National Assembly sent emails to the Speaker yesterday to withdraw their resignations due to the closure of the Parliament House, while letters were also sent to the Speaker to withdraw the resignations.
Yesterday, PTI members reached the National Assembly where the gate of the Parliament House was found closed and it was learned that the Parliament House was closed for 3 days due to a short circuit.
PTI members protested outside Parliament House, PTI leader Aamir Dogar said that closing the gate shows their cowardice, Imran Khan has forbidden their sleep.
