LAHORE: Due to the presence of flood water on the railway track in Karachi and Sukkur division, the train operation has been delayed for another week, due to which the passengers sitting at the station were stranded.
Due to heavy rains and floods in Pakistan, the railway operation has also been badly affected, which could not be restored despite the passage of several days. Railway sources say that the train operation is likely to be restored by September 15.
Railway sources have said that flood water is still present on the railway tracks of Nawabshah and other sections due to which it is becoming difficult for the railway authorities to start train operations on other sections including ML 1.
Due to train operations being affected, the railway administration has stopped online train bookings for the fifth time as all the main line trains between Lahore, Karachi, Quetta and Sukkur have been suspended.
More than 30 up and down trains have been canceled by the railway authorities due to which the booking process has also been completely stopped in the reservation offices.
Railway sources say that Awam Express, Business Express, Karakoram, Shah Hussain Express, Tezgam, Millat Express, Rehman Baba, Jafar Express and Allama Iqbal trains were suspended while Karachi Express, Khyber Mail, Shalimar Express and Bolan trains were also suspended.
