ISLAMABAD: A high-level delegation headed by the Russian Energy Minister will arrive in Pakistan tomorrow regarding the purchase of crude oil, petroleum products and gas from Russia.
A decisive meeting between Russia and Pakistan is scheduled for January 18-20 in Islamabad. The delegation will include officials and experts from energy, railways, communication, industry and commerce.
According to the sources, it has been decided to immediately arrange crude oil and other energy products from Russia at a discount of 30%.
In case of receiving cheap petroleum products from Russia, 2 billion dollars of foreign exchange can be saved annually. Pakistani refineries have made it possible to produce petroleum products from Russian crude oil.
The payment and shipping procedure will also be decided during the meeting of the Inter-Governmental Commission.
