LAHORE: PTI has filed a constitutional petition in Supreme Court Lahore, Karachi, Peshawar and Quetta registry for the case of Imran Khan attack, challenging the move of not including the names of named accused.
The petition was filed by Shah Mehmood Qureshi, Usman Buzdar, Shafqat Mehmood and other MPs. The application was filed under Article 184(3) of the Constitution.
In the petition, action has been taken on the Azam Swati incident and Arshad Sharif’s family members have also been requested to take action.
Usman Buzdar submitted the application to the Deputy Registrar Supreme Court Ejaz Guraya. The Deputy Registrar received the constitutional application of Tehreek-e-Insaf and provided the diary number of the application.
The stand was adopted that the leaders of Tehreek-e-Insaf have filed a request for forming a judicial commission, the Supreme Court should take suo motu notice on these matters.
PTI also filed petitions in Supreme Court Karachi Registry for investigation of various incidents. The petition has signatures of 26 MNAs and MPs.
The position adopted in the petition was that a judicial investigation should be conducted into the attack on Imran Khan, the alleged video of Azam Swati and the murder of Arshad Sharif, and now a judicial commission should be established for all the incidents. A high-level investigation should be conducted into the assassination attack on former Prime Minister Imran Khan.
A similar petition was also submitted to the Supreme Court Peshawar Registry by Deputy Speaker Mehmood Jan, Provincial Ministers Atif Khan, Shaukat Yousafzai, Kamran Bangash, Dr. Amjad, Senator Usman Tarkai and women MPs.
