Peshawar :
PTI General Secretary and former Federal Minister Asad Umar has said that the PML-N-led coalition government which is cracking down on the PTI leadership, will not help in running the country but This will stop the country.
During a press conference with Shah Mehmood Qureshi in Peshawar after the raids on the homes of several PTI leaders, Asad Umar said: I have grown even more.
Asad Omar said that you can use force to stop Pakistan but not to run it and we strongly condemn the act of ‘harassing and arresting’ PTI leaders in Punjab.
During a press conference, former foreign minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi asked PTI leaders and workers in Punjab to “hide” to avoid arrest or if they could go to their relatives’ house.
He advised the workers and leaders to reach Islamabad using public transport or any other means.
The former foreign minister said, “If you encounter difficulties on the way, turn to every road, alley and square connected to the Srinagar Highway, whatever happens, the program of the long march will continue.”
He emphasized that the march was no longer limited to the PTI but had turned into a national movement.
He said that Imran Khan would lead the Peshawar rally on March 25 and reach Islamabad.
“If they try to resist, we will turn to the capital,” he said.
Shah Mehmood Qureshi said that PTI has never had a policy to promote violence or confrontation, all our political activities are peaceful.
“We held rallies and rallies attended by millions of people but never received reports of violence or clashes,” he said.
He also pointed out that we are not going to Islamabad for war.
“We are going to show the government the legal, constitutional and democratic path here, because the country’s political system is crippled, the economy is faltering and the government is unable to take a decision,” he said.
Asad Umar and Shah Mehmood Qureshi emphasized that the only solution to the ongoing chaos in the country was to hold general elections.
The PTI general secretary said, “If you really care about the country, hold elections today. For the sake of the people, we have decided that we will not accept slavery or an imported government.”
