ISLAMABAD: The High Court reserved its decision after hearing the arguments of the parties on the petition against not allowing the meeting and sit-in by Tehreek-e-Insaf. The court remarked that someone has to take the responsibility of law and order for rallies and sit-ins.
PTI’s lawyer Dr. Babar Awan appeared in the court on the occasion of hearing the application before Justice Amir Farooq. The court expressed its displeasure at the fact that no one appeared despite the notice to the Islamabad administration and summoned the district administration immediately.
After the adjournment, Islamabad High Court Justice Aamir Farooq resumed the hearing of the application, in which Advocate General Islamabad Barrister Jahangir Jadoon and Deputy Commissioner Islamabad appeared before the court. The Advocate General read the Supreme Court’s judgment of May 25 and the reply submitted by Imran Khan to the court.
They retract their statement, we cannot trust, Advocate General
Advocate General Barrister Jahangir Jadoon told the court that they retract their statements within half an hour, we do not trust them. The court inquired as to what is the procedure regarding the permission of meetings in general, upon which Barrister Jahangir Jadoon told the court that if it were, then only the permission of the party is assured, however the rally he did It was damaged. The police were injured.
The court said that whatever the lawyer speaks, he does it on behalf of the client. Advocate General told the court that they have always violated the terms and conditions, we are not trusting them. The PTI leadership refused to accept the assurance of 2 senior lawyers.
Lawyer Babar Awan told the court that the petition was filed by Ali Awan, he is responsible for it. Justice Amir Farooq inquired that what happened before will not happen in the place where you are given this. Who will take responsibility for it? Babar Awan replied that Ali Awan is from the party, the party will take responsibility for him.
The Advocate General told the court that we cannot trust PTI Chairman until he is contacted. The affidavit should be signed by Chairman PTI, our servant will go to him.
Regarding the date of the protest, it must be clarified, the court
The court said that yesterday you said here that there is a date of 6, 7, then said something else, you have to be clear about the date. Whatever position you are given, you assure to maintain law and order. Someone has to take responsibility for it. Lest it be said that the people of Lahore or Karachi did this. We will take care that roads are not blocked, people do not face problems. Protest is your right but the rights of the citizens should also be taken care of.
The court said that the Supreme Court has set the limits and restrictions of the protest rally in its orders, which is for the protection of the people. Lawyer Dr. Babar Awan said that the PTI rally will reach around November 10, on which Justice Amir Farooq said that don’t talk about the background, you have to make it clear. The Advocate General told the court that now they are also saying that they will stay for 10 months, they have to tell a fixed date.
Later, after hearing the arguments of the parties, the court reserved its decision .
