Appreciating the performance of the Federal Tax Ombudsman, the President said that it was a commendable effort to deal with tax related complaints through the Tax Ombudsman within 50 days. He asked the taxpayers to take advantage of the FTO’s swift response.
He said that it was important to create awareness among the people about these institutions. The President said that it was suggested that the decisions taken by the Federal Tax Ombudsman in favor of the taxpayers should be made public. The President further said that business delegations met him and assured him of payment of taxes. However, they only demand a simple tax process.
Sindh Governor Imran Ismail on the occasion said that traders are the assets of the country and urged the Federal Tax Ombudsman to provide relief to the business community. Addressing the function, Federal Tax Ombudsman Mushtaq Ahmed Sukhera said that President Dr. The Ombudsman has directed the agencies to play an effective role in resolving the issues.
He said that Karachi generates 70% of the total revenue of the country and the Federal Tax Ombudsman has appointed reputable officers as advisors to ensure relief to the traders of the city.
