ISLAMABAD: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) has announced its resignation from the National Assembly. Sheikh Rashid and Fawad Chaudhry have said that they cannot sit in the assembly with thieves and robbers.
According to sources , a meeting of the party’s core committee was held under the chairmanship of PTI Imran Khan, which was attended by core committee members, chief ministers of Punjab and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, governors and senior leadership of the party.
Sources said that the meeting discussed the future political strategy in view of the current political situation and also discussed the submission of nomination papers for the post of Prime Minister.
According to sources, the meeting decided the strategy of the PTI as an opposition party and the core committee decided that the PTI would play the role of effective opposition inside and outside the people.
The core committee meeting reviewed the preparations for peaceful protests across the country and also discussed the public relations campaign starting today, while it was decided that the PTI would hold a big rally in Peshawar on Tuesday. Former Prime Minister Imran Khan will launch a public relations campaign from the Peshawar meeting.
The meeting decided to complete the organization of the party soon and the working committee said that the parliamentary board should be mobilized for the distribution of tickets for the next elections.

Sheikh Rashid while talking to media after the meeting of PTI core committee said that all of us are going to resign from National Assembly, we cannot sit with thieves and robbers, not share with Shahbaz Sharif. Maybe, everyone has decided unanimously that they will resign, there will be a parliamentary meeting at 9 o’clock while I will address the nation at 9:30 am at Lal Haveli.
No proud person will accept that his decisions are from outside, Fawad Chaudhry.
Fawad Chaudhry, who was present on the occasion, said that the situation was thoroughly reviewed in the core committee meeting. The core committee agreed that the change of government was an international regime change operation which took place in Pakistan. Fawad Chaudhry said that it is a matter of cruelty that Shahbaz Sharif has a case of corruption of Rs 16 billion. Therefore, it would not be an insult to impose a foreign government on Pakistan headed by Shahbaz Sharif.
