Islamabad: Chairman NAB Aftab Sultan has said that progress has been made in the Peshawar BRT case and will try to reach a conclusion in 6 months.
Public Accounts Committee meeting was held under the chairmanship of Chairman PAC Noor Alam Khan, Chairman NAB Aftab Sultan attended the Public Accounts Committee meeting.
Chairman PAC said that some inquiries were referred to NAB on which the speed of investigation is slow, he has asked NAB to conduct an inquiry related to BRT, helicopter case, billion tree tsunami and Bank of Khyber. Looks like some people are being saved.
Chairman NAB said that when I assumed office, the BRT case was closed but we have been looking at the case for 6 weeks and progress has been made, cannot give the date. I have written to the State Bank regarding the Bank of Khyber.
Chairman PAC said that action should be taken against the NAB officers who are responsible for keeping the cases in cold storage. It is known that there is a lot of corruption in some cases but the investigations are slow. It’s been 4 years, so set the time frame.
