Islamabad :
President Arif Alvi has decided not to resign. If Imran Khan asked the President to resign in consultation with the party leaders, then Arif Alvi may consider resigning from his post but for now he should continue his constitutional responsibilities.
Citing the most important sources of PTI, Express News said in the report that despite the removal of Imran Khan from the post of Prime Minister, President Dr. Arif Alvi will continue in his post and he has no plans to resign. No decision has been taken and President Dr. Arif Alvi is performing his constitutional duties as usual.
Sources said that in consultation with the PTI leadership, no issue of resignation of Arif Alvi from the post of President has been considered so far. In the consultation, President Arif Alawi was asked to resign, then Dr. Arif may consider resigning from his post, but for the time being he will continue his constitutional responsibilities.
The report also quotes sources close to the President of Pakistan as saying that Arif Alawi is reviewing the political situation. He is still holding the post of President. However, if a possible federal government takes a constitutional path to remove the President, then he will take a decision in consultation considering the situation. However, it is likely that President Dr. Arif Alvi will take oath from the new Prime Minister.
