According to media reports, the PPP will be given two ministries in the provincial cabinet in the first phase and three ministries in the second phase.
The PPP will get five ministries in Punjab, including a senior provincial minister. It may be recalled that the swearing in ceremony of the Punjab Cabinet was delayed.
According to a report of a private TV channel, the appointment of Syed Hassan Murtaza, a member of the PPP, as a senior minister was delayed due to delay because Hassan Murtaza was not ready to be recognized as a senior minister by the PML-N. Earlier, Hassan Murtaza had left the Governor’s House with another friend.
However, he was later persuaded to become a senior minister, after which Hassan Murtaza and Haider Gilani were sworn in as provincial ministers.
According to the report, regarding the incident, Hassan Murtaza said that such issues have been taking place in the coalition government. I took oath of office. Governor Punjab Muhammad Baligh-ur-Rehman administered the oath of office to the provincial ministers while Chief Secretary Punjab Kamran Ali Afzal read out the notification regarding appointment.
According to media reports, the sworn in ministers include Rana Muhammad Iqbal Khan, Sardar Owais Khan Leghari, Malik Muhammad Ahmad Khan, besides Khawaja Salman Rafique, Syed Hassan Murtaza, Ataullah Tarar, Chaudhry Bilal Asghar and Ali Haider Gilani. Became part of Earlier, Punjab Governor Baligh-ur-Rehman took oath of office at Governor House Lahore. Chief Justice Lahore High Court Muhammad Amir Bhatti administered oath of office to Baligh-ur-Rehman while Chief Secretary Punjab read out the notification regarding appointment. Punjab Chief Minister Hamza Shahbaz also attended the function, besides parliamentarians and judges of Lahore High Court.
