Islamabad: 13 leaders of Muslim League (N) have filed an application for protective bail in the Islamabad High Court in the case of rioting in the Punjab Assembly and the alleged torture of Chaudhry Parvez Elahi.
It should be noted that the Qila Gujar Singh Police approached a local court in Lahore and requested the arrest of the MLAs for not joining the investigation despite issuing several summons.
Therefore, the court issued non-bailable arrest warrants for 12 leaders of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) on the request of the police regarding the tension in the Punjab Assembly during the election of the Chief Minister on April 16.
After the warrants were issued, the Punjab Police also raided the residences of at least a dozen members of the Pakistan Muslim League (N) provincial assembly in several cities of the province.
After which 13 leaders of Muslim League (N) including Special Assistant to Prime Minister Atta Tarar, Owais Leghari, Rana Mashhood reached Islamabad High Court and filed applications for protective bail.
Other leaders who filed the petition include Adil Chhata, Shoaib Barth, Malik Ghulam Habib, Mirza Javed, Saiful Mulok, Pir Khizr Hayat, Raja Sagheer, Abdul Rauf, Bilal Farooq and Rana Manan.
In the petitions, the stand has been taken that the Islamabad High Court should grant protective bail and stop the Punjab Police from making arrests.
The petitioners said that there is a false and baseless case in which they want to appear to clear themselves, so protective bail should be granted.
In the said petitions, the State and the in-charge of Qila Gujar Singh have been made parties.
On the occasion of Islamabad High Court’s arrival, Atta Tarr while talking to the media said that yesterday Imran Khan reached Pims without meeting permission and made a fuss.
He said that the actual case was about the attack on the Deputy Speaker, was there any arrest on him? Cases have been filed against us to take revenge for the Shahbaz Gul case.
He further said that false cases are being made against us, it is known that Parvez Elahi’s government has come, yesterday the Punjab Police raided the houses of our leaders and took away valuables.
Atta Tarar said that we are not the party that is afraid of cases, we have been remanded for 90 days, but we have not done so.
He further said that everyone saw the Deputy Speaker being beaten, did anyone see Parvez Elahi being beaten or attacked, there is no evidence against us of the attack on Parvez Elahi.
The Muslim League (N) leader further said that on May 25, you tried to create chaos in the country and made fun of the policeman who gave his life.
They said that Pervaiz Elahi is a toy with a key whose key is turned by Imran Khan, he has a habit of being a toy with a key.
Speaking to the media on this occasion, Rana Mashhood said that baseless cases have been made against us, followers of Imran cannot stop our way, we will work for the development of Pakistan and the development of Punjab, whenever the constitution is mocked. The blown country weakened.
Raja Sagheer said that I will say that the country is going through a weak period in history, they are suffering because we are trying to develop Pakistan, why other countries including Saudi Arabia are improving their relations with us, they are suffering. How are we going to fulfill the IMF agreement?
Apart from this, Owais Leghari said that instead of helping the flood victims, leaflets are being cut on us.
He further said that no one has done what Shahbaz Gul and PTI have done, the chain of command of Pakistan Army has been challenged and it has to be taken seriously.
At the same time, he further said that today these people are regretting in their closed rooms that the government is on the way to success, at this time the country needs stability, the price of wrong papers will have to be paid by these people.
