Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib has said that water resources have not been worked on in the past as is being done under the present government. Pm is taking a lot of interest snd he wants to work on water resvoir projects.
According to details, Minister of State for Information and Broadcasting Farrukh Habib said that Prime Minister Imran Khan was taking steps to tackle the effects of climate change.
Farrukh Habib said that history has shown that no major dam could be built in Pakistan after 1967. Imran Khan will lay the foundation stone of the fifth expansion project of Tarbela today. The project costing 7 807 million will be completed in 2024.
He said that power generation from Tarbela would increase from 4,888 to 6,418 MW, adding that no such work had been done on water reservoirs in the past. The Prime Minister is taking interest in water reservoir projects in the country.
The Minister of State said that work on Diamer Bhasha Dam, Dasu Hydropower, Mohmand Dam, Haripur Power, Kachhi Canal, Sindh Barrage, K4, Karam Tangi Dam, Sindh Barrage and New Gaj Dam is in full swing. The 10 projects will store 12.89 million acre feet of water.
He further said that the projects will increase the production of cheap hydropower by 9,043 MW, these projects will create more than 35,000 jobs. For Imran Khan, farmers of all federal units are equal and they are all equal. They want equal development.
