Beijing: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Chinese President Xi Jinping and discussed bilateral cooperation and other important issues.
During his two-day official visit to China, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif met Chinese President Xi Jinping and agreed to promote cooperation in economic sectors between the two countries, increase cooperation in CPEC and further strengthen strategic partnership.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif thanked the Chinese President for China’s assistance in the relief, rehabilitation and reconstruction efforts of Pakistan in the context of the disaster caused by the super flood in Pakistan.
The two leaders discussed cooperation on a range of issues including defence, trade and investment, agriculture, health, education, alternative energy, science and technology and disaster preparedness and agreed that the CPEC would lead to higher standards. Bilateral relations between Pakistan and China will be further strengthened by the development generated through CPEC project.
Chinese President Xi Jinping has assured that Pakistan will continue to support Pakistan for sustainable economic development and harnessing its potential as a geo-economic hub.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held a detailed discussion with his Chinese counterpart Li Keqiang regarding bilateral issues and increasing mutual cooperation. In the meeting, it was agreed to complete CPEC projects as soon as possible and expand CPEC. Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif was presented a guard of honor at the Great Hall of People.
After the meeting, agreements and contracts were also signed between China and Pakistan.
