According to media reports, the Prime Minister will attend the scheduled SCO summit in Dushanbe. Foreign Minister Shah Mehmood Qureshi will also accompany the Prime Minister on Saturday. Imran Khan and Vladimir Putin will meet on the sidelines of the SCO summit.

According to diplomatic sources, besides the Russian President, the Prime Minister will also meet Chinese President Xi Jinping.
Earlier on Tuesday evening, Prime Minister Imran Khan and Russian President Putin had a telephone conversation, during which the latest situation in Afghanistan, bilateral relations and cooperation in the Shanghai Cooperation Organization were discussed. The Russian President also invited the Prime Minister to visit Russia. The two leaders have another contact in a few days.
The two leaders also agreed to stay in close touch. Prime Minister Imran Khan said that the international community should not leave the people of Afghanistan alone at a critical juncture, Afghanistan needs to be helped and saved from the economic crisis. Similarly, Prime Minister Imran Khan and Russian President Putin also expressed their determination to strengthen and further enhance the overall Pak-Russia relations. The Prime Minister vowed to implement the Pakistan Gas Stream Pipeline project as soon as possible. Imran Khan said that cooperation in the fields of trade and energy must be strengthened.
