Lahore:
The Prime Minister lamented the mismanagement of Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute and said that this rare facility has been inactive and pending for two years due to dirty politics.
He expressed these views while inaugurating the state-of-the-art Saleem Memorial Trust Hospital in Lahore. According to state broadcaster Radio Pakistan, the hospital will provide world-class medical facilities to the poor and needy.

The Prime Minister said that PKLI was set up to provide world class medical services to the poor and needy and billions of rupees were invested in it. He said that he sincerely wanted it and still wants it. I want this institution to become the Johns Hopkins of Pakistan.
He emphasized that it was a world class hospital but regretted how the PTI government ignored it.
He said that the purpose of this institution was to serve thousands of people from all over Pakistan. Famous doctors, physicians and surgeons also came but what happened after the change of government is a sad story. I have not come here to tell that story. Without making any kind of accusation, I must say that this happened only because this institution was created under our supervision, in the end the money of the people was at stake.
The Prime Minister said that after the split pool, the surplus revenue was spent on debt repayment and defense expenditure.
He questioned if a hospital would be built at a cost of Rs 20 billion for the treatment of cancer and liver / kidney transplantation and other ailments while experts from all over the world were called in but if it was ignored. Who suffers in the end?
