Islamaad :
The Islamic Republic of Iran and Pakistan have agreed to launch direct flights from Pakistan to Iran with the aim of developing public relations and boosting tourism between the two neighboring countries.
According to IRNA on Thursday, the CEO of Pakistan National Airlines (PIA) announced during a meeting with the Iranian ambassador in Islamabad the new plan to launch a direct flight from Karachi, the economic heart of Pakistan, to the holy city of Mashhad.
“Arshad Malek” attended the embassy of our country and met with “Seyyed Mohammad Ali Hosseini” announced: Direct flights of Pakistan Airlines to Mashhad will begin on January 1, this year (January 1, 2021).
During the meeting, the two sides reviewed the bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan in the field of aviation and strengthen public relations, and agreed to increase bilateral cooperation.
Development of Iran-Pakistan public relations and tourism by increasing direct flights
Currently, the Islamic Republic of Iran “Homa” operates one flight a week from Tehran to Karachi and vice versa, and there are rumors that Mahan Iran Airlines will resume flights from Tehran and Mashhad to Lahore.
Lahore is one of the important cities of Pakistan and is known as the ‘cultural heart’ of this country, so the resumption of these flights can be an effective step in the development of bilateral relations between Iran and Pakistan.
Also, the start of direct Karachi-Mashhad flights, in addition to increasing the movement of different groups of the two neighbors to each other countries, including pilgrimages to holy places in Iran, helps to strengthen the exchange of trade and commerce delegations, especially facilitating business trips to each other.
Given the declining trend in the prevalence of Covid-19 virus in both countries and the expansion of the Corona vaccination plan in such a situation, the announcement of the resumption of commercial flights promises a new development in trade relations between Iran and Pakistan, especially the tourism boom.
